Doodle of the Week

This week's doodle is interesting in almost the opposite way of last week. It has the central cross, but this one is absolutely regular. I like it better. I am a symmetry person.

I like the central circle-in-a-square motif. Its an ancient one, goes all the way back to the dawn of time. It has had many meanings through the ages, usually having to do with the union of the heavens and the earth. Another popular meaning is the sun and the four cardinal directions.

But maybe it is just a plate on a placemat. 

Ok, that was lame of me, but I am hungry.
