It is a whole brand new year, and this year I am giving myself a clean slate. So there will be no catch up doodles from the holidays this time.
I like this carpet doodle, it feels nautical to me. The stars and waves give it a jaunty air. The 22 simple medallions provide white space and break up the strong interlocking zig zag movement.
Do you make any resolutions? Do you keep them? I don't make them, so I have had no problem keeping them. But there are things that I meant to have done last year that I haven't done yet. So maybe I should try a few resolutions. I have read that if you tell people about them, you are more likely to succeed in keeping them. Keeping them simple and specific helps too.
I meant to redo my website, which I have totally neglected in favor of this blog. This week, I am taking a long hard look at my site, and deciding how to proceed.
I have started painting again, after a long side step into folding books and embroidery, but I have lost my consistent 5 days a week studio practice. This week I will go down to my studio every day. That sounds kind of silly, but going down there is the key thing. Once I am down there, art will happen.
When I post next week's doodle. I will let you know how I have done.
