This week's doodle has a whopping 31 medallions. I think that is the most medallions in a large carpet doodle ever, they usually have around 15. I thought this one had a lot so, yes, I pulled a few out and counted.
The patterning takes a back seat to circles in this one.
I like the connecting motifs. I think the horizontal one does a bit to lighten up the right hand side and breaks it up visually. Otherwise I think that the doodle would be unbalanced. All of the visual weight would be on the right hand side.
I have to go. I am late feeding the beasts, and they are about to mug me.
