Doodle of the Week

This week's doodle is quite large and very intricate. I like the way that the constellation of medallions spins around the center.

My guess is that it is because the actual center of the doodle comes together so awkwardly. The strong horizontal and vertical axis overlap giving the illusion of movement.

The whole doodle reminds me of the stars in the sky, imagery I return to again and again.

And it is an excuse to post the star chart for this month. Why I do this when I live in one of the worst places for skywatching in the world, I couldn't say. (image via Learn What's Up)
